Progress update:

Cumbria County Council has developed the Rural Wheels project which has been extended in the South Lakeland Area and now covers the three Parishes in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.   North Yorkshire County Council carried out an area transport review in Craven District in 2007.  With financial support from North Yorkshire County Council and Yorkshire Forward, a large investment in community transport has been provided in the area through the development of a Craven Hubs initiative.  This is a a pilot initiative which aims to "improve access to services in Craven through the creation of a sustainable network of independent community transport operators working collaboratively to achieve shared outcomes."  The Craven Hubs initiative provides flexible services in the Craven Dales Area, with particular emphasis on improved infrastructure and integration at Bentham and Settle railway stations.
